Ritual was founded on the belief that people deserve to know what they’re putting into their bodies and why—that’s the core of our Made Traceable approach, and overall commitment to unparalleled standards for transparency. On that note, we know that what’s not included in our products can be just as important to you as what is. We feel the same way, which is why we have used Non-GMO ingredients since day one.

Now we’re proud to be announcing that Essential for Women 18+, Essential for Women 50+, and Essential Prenatal are now Non-GMO Project Verified. Let’s dig into what that actually means.

First off: What’s non-GMO?

Genetically modified organisms (GMO) are living organisms that have been artificially modified through genetic engineering. Often, GMOs are engineered to withstand pesticides and other chemicals. The impact of GMOs isn’t entirely known. But we believe that our customers should have full confidence in the composition of their products, for themselves and for the planet. That’s why we opt for non-GMO ingredients. (1)

What does it mean to be Non-GMO Project Verified?

While opting for non-GMO ingredients is an important start, getting certified by a respected third party organization is another key layer of reassurance—it tells our customers that our formulations are independently verified. The Non-GMO Project is a well respected nonprofit organization that has developed a verification system for non-genetically modified organisms. Not every brand can claim to be Non-GMO Project Verified—their products have to tick all the boxes of the organization’s requirements to meet the Non-GMO Project standard.

What about Ritual’s other products? Aren’t they non-GMO?

All of our multivitamin products are formulated with non-GMO ingredients, and we’re committed to certifying other products under the Non-GMO Project program. Stay tuned for more exciting updates.
